Me and Insomnia


I think my insomnia is getting worse. I have sleep difficulties since my foundation study, 2 years ago. It started when I was in second semester. I started to sleep at 3-4 am almost everyday. I stayed up late at night not for study or do some revision, it's just I cannot sleep, I cannot close my eyes.

Even when I try to sleep early (normally by reading some books), I will wake up often during the night and having trouble going back to sleep. It really trouble for me especially when I have morning class. I need to wake up early in the morning  and always sleepy during day. I always 'top up' or 'qada' my sleep when I have a break. My friends also noticed that I always sleep late and become tired during day.

I try not to sleep during day. I also try to do anything that can make me tired during night such as exercising, reading etc etc, but it still same. I still end up sleep at 3-4am. I need to get back my sleep times. My normal and healthy sleep times. This is totally not good for me.

Before I have sleep disorder, I normally sleep at 11pm everyday. I will went to bed and prepared everything at 10pm. It become my routine and it changed when I in second semester of my foundation. And it become worse when I have semester break. Sometimes I sleep after 'subuh' and wake up at 9-10 am. Still not getting enough sleep yet T_T

What I always do when I can't sleep? I always playing with my phone and listening to music. Mostly I will ended up listening to soft music. Sometimes I just look at the ceiling, hug my 'bantal busuk' and hope that I will sleep. However it is useless act. It still take hours for me to fall asleep. Ohh, someone once told me that he will listen to rain sound if he can't sleep. I tried his method but it didn't work for me :(

I hope I can get back my proper sleep. I try my best..

  1. Haii fatin..memang tak best kan rasa bile kite bangun dalam keadaan tak cukup tidur. saya pernah tidur selepas subuh dan bangun pada jam 9 pagi... rasa pening tuu tak boleh bawak bincang. Itu baru beberapa hari sebab kejar dateline untuk hantar interim thesis., ni kan pulak kalau everyday. its really unhealthy. Saya saja nak suggest, cube fatin amalkan zikir fatimiyyah pulak. baca atau dengar sehingga tertidur. zikir ni Baginda Nabi Muhammad saw hadiakan kepada puteri-Nya.. mana tahu kot-kot berhasil. :)

  2. hello fatin,
    i used to have sleep disorder but now i'm taking medicine to sleep.
    but i suggest you to take a hot shower right before you sleep, change you bed sheets once a week and wear lotion on your body using any lotion that you like the smell. nice smell helps you relax a bit. be comfortable in your own bed. don't eat much before you sleep. turn off the light. if those can't help you, i guess you need to open surah instead, idk which surah specifically but i believe, surah can make me sleep easier like it makes the satan goes away from me which makes me less anxious to sleep. you know what i mean right? i hope those tips will help you tho.. i'm here if you need me :D

  3. hi fatin. idk if this will help u or not. i usually stop playing with my phone 1 hrs earlier. i can't remember where i read it, someone said tht the light from your phone make you stay awake instead of sleeping.

  4. i do sometimes have sleeping problem,kadang2 tu sampai tak boleh tidur.i dunno what is wrong with me. but i guess you can hear to any soft lullaby or do something that can be tiring..i suka tengok ASMR,have heard about it? tengok benda tu very calming for certain people..sebab ASMR bunyi kadang2 membosankan sampai rasa ngantuk je...hahahah i dunno about you but can give a try.hope your health gettin better

    Bila tidur lambat ni, ia akan sedikit sebanyak akan menganggu sel sel tubuh kita. Badan akan jadi lemau dan lesu. Otak dan fikiran boleh jadi blur blur gitu.

    Tidur lepas subuh tak di galakkan. Memang akan pening dik :)

    Akak galakkan awak cuba jauhkan hp atau music sebelum tido. Its not good. Try ya.

    Cuba tarik nafas dalam2 dan hembus.
    Fikir yang baik-baik. "Aku nak tidur dalam keadaan bahagia"

    Delete segala perkara yang negatif. Cuba dan cuba maafkan semua orang if diaorang ada buat silap dengan awak ya sebelum tidur.

    Amalkan zikir fatimah
    Allahuakbar 33x
    SubhanaAllah 33x
    Alhamdulillah 33x

    Ulang2 istighfar.

    Doa pada DIA. Mintak dengan dia. Awak nak tidur. Nak bangun awal.

    Jangan tengok movie/cite yang boleh menggangu emosi kita.

    Tidur awal sebelum kol 12malam.

    1 jam tidur bersamaan = 3 jam.

    Bila tidur awal. Dan terjaga dalam kol 3 pagi. Awak akan rasa fresh. Time tu boleh solat tahajud dan taubat.

    Maaf ya akak komen panjang pula.

    Boleh minum susu sebelum tidur. Sebab kalsium ni membantu untuk kita tidur lena. InshaAllah.

  6. sy selalu mcm ni jugak. pkul 10 mlm dah atas katil tapi dah pkul 3 pagi pun masih xleh nak tidur. kdg2 terjaga sampai pkul 4 pagi gak. slalunya sy tak paksa utk tidur so sy bgn je tgk drama etc sbb kalau tidur jugak mesti terlepas waktu subuh nanti haha pastu last2 tak tidur sepanjang malam tu sbb the next day ada kelas :'((

  8. I have insomnia too. Kadang tu pukul 10 pagi baru nak lelap pastu bangun pukul 6 petang sometimes pukul 9 malam baru bangun. My sleeping pattern is worsen everyday. Susah jugak bila sleeping pattern terganggu sampai macam ni skali sbb haritu masa raya, tido rumah pakcik, semua masuk tido pukul 11-12 malam, but I was still tossing and turning tak boleh nak lelap. End up, lewat gila tido.

    And guess what? I'm writing this comment right now at 4.29am ! hahaha Lepas ni memang terus peluk bantal.

  9. memang tak best bila tidur tak teratur.. sampai kena makan ubat semata untuk tidur.. Alhamdulillah sekarang Nurul dah mudah untuk tidur.. yang penting kena kesihatan kita sebaik mungkin..

  10. Saya pun masa dok pulun ngedit foto dan video dulu selalu gak terbiasa tido pukul 2 3 pagi tapi bila dah kerja berulang (travel total 180 km to and fro) balik terus jadi letih tambah pulak faktor usia juga rasanya

    Tapi kot boleh kita minta lah dalam doa agar kesihatan dan perjalanan hidup kita dipermudahkan

  11. aff pun kadang2 susah nak tidur tapi byk cara jgk aff try and maybe u can try this one. u try playlist natural sound kat utube. mcm bunyi hujan..waterfall etc :D

  12. hai fatin . eh same la , since study mmg dapat penyakit nie sampailah sekarang . susah gile nak tidur awal . Kadang sampai mental je tengok roomate letak kepala tak sampai 2 minit dah boleh tidur . . sye nie sejam baring dalam gelap , sunyi without phone pun belum tentu boleh tidur .
